Great looking day. Windy, chilly but with a hint of sun. Perfect for a
Rivendell Garage sale. Tons of wheels and small items for sale. If you
were early to the sale you were greeted by John who laid down the
general idea of the sale. No pepper spray or mad running starts on
this one, just general browsing and interesting interactions with
people on the forum. It's great that I get to meet with actually
people on the forum. Lots of nice components for super sweet deals. If
you had a frame that needed to builds up you were in for a treat. All
you needed at the sale for a fraction of the cost. Decided since I was
in Walnut Creek I would do the ride over to Shell Ridge, got to
convince Marc "Mr.Owlboogie" from the forum to ride with me. The
chilly and windy weather worked to our advantage by keeping it cool
and pushing us up as we climbing our way to Wall Point. We looped
around towards Castle Rock, "successfully" riding over the mini
streams along the way. Marc on his beautiful X0-1 on his slick
commuter tires and jeans. I always tell people that riding in the dirt
is never an issue with skinny tires unless you're riding fast. All in
all great day. No one died, nothing caught on fire.
Looking forward to riding with forum people more often.

Manny, thanks for posting the pictures. As always, they're winners.
That's a great looking Hillborne in your set. I feel like I haven't
been spending much time reading or looking at RBW related stuff but
after looking at your set I'll have to look around on the Flickr
page.

I'll be in SF in 2 weeks for a few days and may try to swing over to
RBW on the Monday before I leave. Unfortunate the trip won't include
any riding. Hopefully next year I'll make a trip to SF and have my
Hilsen with me.

Found more pictures on the cam. These include camera dueling with Mr.
Harry Hugel, sample photos of some bags that were on sale and some
super cheap parts!
Also got my xmas tree this morning via bike. Interesting thing that
happens while riding down the street with a tree strapped to your
back, you get a lot of funny stares.

Manny,
Riding around with a christmas tree strapped on your back is decidedly un-racer-ish.
You get style points for this move.
