This is Rivendell related but not directly so if this is not cool please let me know.

As you know recently I started a thread looking for an MB.  Well I found this MB-1 and it came in this week.  I updated it with Schwalbe tires, Nitto Bullmoose bars with handlebar tape, and a Brooks saddle. (don't worry I kept the original stem for now).  It's pretty much done but the brakes need new cable and wired up better.

The links aren't working for me, but if it's one of those pewter
colored lugged ones, you sir, are a lucky person. That was my dream
bike for many a year. Still is I suppose. I've never seen one in
it's natural environment though :-(

It doesn't get much better than that!

Johnny,

Congrats on your new(to you) MB-1!  It looks great, especially with the Bullmoose bar and bar taped grips!

Thanks for sharing your pics!  Have a blast riding your MB-1!

Dude, that is so nice. The only '94 I ever saw live and in pewter was when they were new at Pedal Pusher in Santa Rosa. I tried to snag this one but the seller never returned my email..my loss, your gain. But that's ok, the plum '94 XO-3 I've been looking for forever is on its way from Milwaukee today. Winners!

XO-3's are great. I used to have the '93 red one that I rode as a do-all for about 2 years, and then I gave it to my nephew who is teenage, and he rides it everywhere.

He may not have gotten back because I emailed him pretty quickly.  I had a plum 94 XO-3 and I am sad that i got rid of it. I sold it to someone on this board though. (I can't remember who).  The great thing about those is that they are essentially just an affordable version of the 93 XO-1.  The geometry and frame are the same just slightly more affordable tube material.

I bought a plum '94 when Bridgestone closed..stolen a few years later. You wouldn't believe how few of these are still out there. The XO-1 may be more valuable/collectible, but the '94 lower-cost XO-3 billed as its "replacement" is rare. I know the catalogue says a production run of 1000 or so, but I highly doubt that many were made the final year.

My "new" bike is coming with some nice Suntour XC Pro parts, and I'm going to appropriately "Rivendellize" it with Sackville bags and a Brooks saddle when it arrives (gratuitous Rivendell content, check).

I am curious as to how many of any models were made in the last year.  They closed up ship and I am not sure they made as many of any of the bikes as they said they would.

Here is a photo of the plum one that I owned.
