Sorry for being off topic but...when I went to see my cousin in New Hampshire last summer I noticed she had a number of copies of a magazine entitled n + 1. Assuming initially it was related in some way to bicycles I picked one up and discovered it was a brilliant literary magazine with fiction, commentary, poetry, reviews and politics. I spent many nights reading issues that she had.
For Christmas she gifted me a subscription. I received my first issue Friday.
Under Institutional Supporters it lists Rivendell Bicycle Works.
Love the mixed metaphor...
Cheers.

Appreciate the recommendation.  I'm curious as to the where the title might have come from if it's not about bikes? (apologies if I'm missing the obvious)

n+1 is derived from a mathematical term used in recursive calculations

Thank you Patrick. I know the expression well from my calculus and statistics days, but I was more curious as to how it might be that a literary magazine would adopt (n + 1)  for its  name.
Thoughts?
Thanks

I too wondered this, as a one-time lover of calculus. (Yes, really!)

I checked their site but saw no reference to the name. But maybe I missed it

You get bonus points for integrating your calculus into your post, Eric   I assume you derived that on your own? ;-)

The term applies in other fields. I'm also a photographer and play guitar. Amongst guitarists the term GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome) is used. I'm fairly moderate there - I only have four guitars, but I know people with many more than that. The same with photographers and cameras.

Ya’ll don’t think big readers have book hoarding problems?
