Ride for the Friendship

I'm lucky enough to be able to share my riding with friends old and new.

My buddy Tommy has ridden with me down the coast, through the rivers, in the rain, in the sun, with a smile on his face. 
We have shared miles upon miles of roads and dirt. Now he's off to a new adventure, Portland! Now my go-to buddy for riding is a tad bit far for a simple call for a short ride. Sad to see him go but excited for him. Already planning the next trip.

Last ride in the Bay Area ended up doing the classic route with a mixture of "cyclocross training".

Side Adventure:

Got to ride with Ely of Ruth Works just around the Marin Headlands. Good to be on some dirt.

We'll take good care of Tommy. 

I've found myself in some pretty "miserable" conditions over the years on various adventures. Even though there was cold, wet, hot, hungry, tired, whatever... those can be the best times when sharing them with friends.

Good topic, Manny. Got me to thinking that most of the people I
consider good friends are also biking buddies. Longer rides &
especially multi-day rides really reveal a person's true nature. The
rider that's there to help you fix flat in the rain at dusk or share
that last sandwich is the real deal. Those are people you can count
on, and who make rides & trips such enjoyable experiences.
