Anyone who has a Clem, can they confirm that the stock tire is the KwickNine?  I have a 65cm coming so I'm getting 700c/29er wheels as per the stock build.  I matched the tread and size up on the Kenda site, what I think it looks like anyway.

Weight is listed at 889 grams?

Is this really it?

I will try it at least and give the Wisdom of Grant a chance but I'm used to Compass and Grand Bois tires.  That said, the Snoqualmie Pass is a fair bit narrower than the Kenda.  What else is out there that would fit in a light(er) weight 29x2 ish tire?  Schwalbe Big Apple maybe?

The other thing that will probably change is the friction, however, going to give that a chance too.  I don't have any 8 speed shifters lying around but I do have a 9 speed cassette and indexed Microshift shifter that should bolt right up.  Nevertheless I'll give 8 speed friction a shot as spec'd.

If Schwalbe still makes the 700C, 50 mm Kojak, I'd take a close look. The Big Apple is nice for an off road or utility tire, but it's not as light or supple as the Kojak. AND, the Kojak -- at least the 559 and 622 X 1.35 versions, are pretty flat resistant -- I rode them here in GoatHeadLand without sealant, and a pack of 100 Remas lasted me at least 6 months.

Yes, I am pretty sure that is it Jim. I have seen some photos of 59's and that was the tire.

Weight ?  Well, a BA isn't much much better , 700x50 is 740g and 700x55 is 810g and they run narrow, but most seem to like the ride if you can forget about comparing them to other tires, which is really overlooked. Since every bike is unique, why compare tires you have on other bikes with this one since we are talking about this one ? This I ask myself all the time and stops the clamoring of comparitis(chronic comparing).

That said, if you want "light and supple", prolly gonna be something like a G-One Speed 60-622 , it'll fit your bike. https://www.schwalbetires.com/bike_tires/racing_tires/G-ONE_Speed

I have wondered about the Maxxis Torch 2.1 . somewhere in between a BA and the G-One ....http://www.maxxis.com/catalog/tire-473-torch

I have a Clementine in 52, so the Kwick Seven.five. I was planning to swap them for the Compass Switchback, but I've been perfectly happy with the Kendas on this bike. I do have Compass and Paris Roubaix or similar on my other bicycles, and of course I like those a lot. Would I gain any speed or more fun factor by switching? Maybe. Maybe not. Enjoy your Clem Jr!

Those are them, and they're great tires. Supple enough, durable, fast and fun. Having run the Schwalbe Big Ones on the big Clem, I've since swapped back to the Kendas until I can get to the beach. And speaking of beaches, I'm about to swap the Kendas out for my Ice Spiker Pros in preparation for a big dump hitting the coast this Tuesday!
