It looks like it’s finally time to part with my trusty steed. I rode my Saluki for thousands of miles of commuting and touring while we lived in Santa Fe and I was quite active in this list during that time. After returning to Seattle in 2013, traffic and injuries kept me from riding much. A recent diagnosis confirms that future riding is not going to be happening so it’s time to find a new home for this one. It breaks my heart but this bike needs to be ridden.
The reputation of the Saluki is well deserved, It truly is the nicest and most comfortable bike I’ve ever ridden. My PBH is around 85-86 and I fit this 58cm frame well. I converted it from drop bars to upright bars and installed the Loup Loup Pass 38 tires about 7 1/2 years ago. It’s been sitting garaged for the past 7 years since a fall and serious shoulder injury.
I would really prefer to sell the bike locally and not have to ship it. If shipping is necessary, I’ll be happy to deliver it to a bike shop that can take it from there and the buyer will need to make the arrangements. The advantage for a local buyer is also that there are extra parts that will be included. I’m publishing it here as I’d rather sell it within the Riv community, but will post it elsewhere in a week if needed.
Here’s the build.
