Hey group,

So nothing materialized in the search for used Motolites so let's see if we can turn up a pair of silver BR-T610 calipers.

These were standard issue on Riv builds before the pandemic so hopefully someone who bought a complete and upgraded will have a pair available.

Please respond off list at jaredwi...@gmail.com

Thanks :)

Those are my all-time favorite V-brakes. I had them on my Sam Hillborne and would love to have a few more pairs in my parts bin too.

I should be more accurate and say those are my all-time favorite rim brakes.

I'd love to know where to find these too. Maybe it's time to visit my local bike co-op...

For what it's worth, I found them new at Alexs Cycle in Japan.

You can get the much nicer polished silver DXR MX70's quite easily as they are still produced and offered domestically. The DXR components being more for BMX are not prone to the "every part inevitably turns into a black hole" nonsense the road and mtb groups are by Shimano.

Thanks for those who have reached out directly or added commentary to this posting.

Black units are still available from a handful of sources and make a fine alternative, but I'm moving away from black on this build and the silver is an iconic look for the Hillibikes IMO.

@Garth, yes the MX70's are available for a fair price as well, we have a pair on my wife's Platypus and they are a fine unit but for whatever reason I find the BR-T610 profile more pleasing.

I have a used pair on the way but would like to bump this listing in hopes of finding another pair to compare and hopefully shelf for later use, so if you have a pair of these silver BR-T610's please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thanks all and be well :)
