I removed and cleaned my chain rings and cassette this weekend. Passed
a Porsche Carrera in traffic yesterday. Coincidence?

It seems that degreasing and oiling the chain once in a while is not a
good enough maintenance regime.

Agreed, especially with a triple, and extra especially if you ride in rain, on dirt roads, or as I have often done, both at the same time.

OTH, passing a Porsche Carrera is no big deal as they spend half their life in the shop (and the other half draining checkbooks!)
