Add a bit of custom decalcomania- a quiz ensues:
For 1 point each: Based on the top tube quotes: What models are our bikes?
For 3 points each (if you internet search) or 10 points each (no internet search- honor system): What the heck are the meanings of these quotes?

The 'what models?' quiz is easy:
-- The green bike is obviously a Laid Back Cycles recumbent trike. You gave it away with "lay back"!
- The yellow/gold one is a little trickier, but it's got to be HUP kid's because Hurrah and HUP start with the same two letters.

Do I get my 2 points????           Steve in AVL

P.S. Congrats on the new bike.

Thanks Dan.
Okay, I'll take a more serious stab at it - on the internet honor system..

- The meaning of the phrase on the Homer is borrowed from a Civil war era song popularized in the North as the war drew to an end.

- The Platypus phrase is a corruption of a British sailing chanty.

Steve: Will you please share the titles and perhaps the text of these songs?

When I googled “Hurrah me boys! We’re homeward bound!” I got a reference to an old sea chanty. https://lyricstranslate.com/en/sea-shanties-homeward-bound-lyrics.html

Sorry, that doesn’t make sense; I typed that it then googled then typed the rest.

"Steve: Will you please share the titles and perhaps the text of these songs?"

Patrick, I have no idea.  I was just taking a guess - playing for Dan's  "no internet search" 10 pointers.

Dan, I'm curious to see a pic of the new Platypus - all of it this time.   I'm always interested in how other riders are setting theirs up.   Thanks, Steve

BTW, what the heck ARE the meanings of the quotes?

So both quotes are taken from sea shanties: Paddy Lay Back and Goodbye Fare Ye Well (We're homeward bound!). We're sailors and big shanty fans- can't resist a sing along! Steve I'll give you 10 points for the Platy, 2 for getting the models, 1 for creativity. 13 Points going out with the next carrier pigeon.

I need to take new pictures of the bikes but here's a recent one

I like that Platypus. Woodies - with a wood shim for the fender line.  Wald Racer basket on the rear end.
And those arched trusses for the rack, those have got to be from an Erector Set.
Nicely done!   I'm always delighted by what a chameleon the Platypus is. It's a good bike to have some fun with (looking at you too L. P.)

Thank you for noticing the details. I made her fenders- steam bent oak with a walnut veneer accent. And a lot of twisted, splintered oak, failed attempts, feed the fireplace that winter!

And the basket is an office "in box" basket.

I am impressed by the quality of the fenders; well done.

And the basket is an office "in box" basket.

I rigged up a capacious — could theoretically carry 4 full paper grocery sacks — quick on/off rear basket for my former Dahon Hon Solo using a big basket from an Office Depot “modular storage system.” I still have it, tho’ I’ve long since sold the Dahon.

Dan, congrats on new bike.
You made those wooden fenders yourself? They make Platy even more beautiful!
