Is there somebody or somewhere here that I can go to try to figure out why my posts/replys never seem to show up? At least I can't see them. There has been some evidence in the past that other group members can see my posts in that they replied to me. Once I think this happened. It was weird though because I couldn't see my post in the thread and I couldn't remember exactly what I said. For instance I re

But, it's probably not a bad idea to once again remind folks - if you are a
new member, or if you are an old member who has unsubscribed and resub'd
with a new email address, your posts are moderated.
Depending upon how you posted to the list, it may appear to have gone
through. If you are reading this discussion via email (i.e. POP3 type
client such as Outlook or Mail) then you hitting <REPLY> will send an email,
or if you are viewing through a web browser, you will click <POST>. Either
way, if it doesn't appear, it has not necessarily vanished.
From the context of most folks' comments, it seems that the most common post
"POOF" (as in disappearence) comes when folks are viewing via the web. I
suppose it would be nice if the google groups would let folks know that
their post is awaiting moderation and I'll pass along that reminder to The
Google once again.
But, here's a quick list of what generally won't get passed through:
- FS ads for non-Rivendell Type items
- Personal responses to sellers on items listed For Sale (as a reminder, the
default email response goes to the list at large, rather than to the
poster).
- Off Topic Posts or replies to Off Topic Posts.
- Comments that Posts are not showing up.
I've revamped the Intro paragraph which appears on the Group web page to
reflect this info as well. My contact info also appears there, if you
really are having a hard time getting things posted. The Cyclofiend at gmail
address is actually the best to use for me.
Hope that sheds a little bit o' light on the subject.
