👋 Wanted to say hello and share some pics of my Charlie Gallop:

Big thanks to everyone at Riv for making the process magic. I’ve wanted a Rivendell since 2008(!!!) and the Gallop has been everything and so much more.

Also a huge thank you to the local Dallas Riv owners (Jim, Paul and Luis) who have been so helpful and just all around great dudes.

Riding this bike has brought me so much joy!

Thanks! That's a Ron's Bikes Clap Trap: https://ronsbikes.com/products/the-clap-trap

Really enjoying it. Very easy to open, even while riding. Side pockets are great for your phone, small camera, snacks, etc.

The bike is even more terrific to see in person.

Congrats Stephen.

It's great to have another Riv rider in the Dallas area!

And for anyone interested in the build, it's mostly the "Grant Pick" build option with a few changes:

2024 61cm Charlie Gallop frame in gold

Velocity a23 wheels w/ Silver Hubs

Continental Contact Urban Tires

Nitto 90-190 110m Stem

Albatross Bar

Silver Bar End Shifters + brass caps

Dia-Compe Levers

Tektro R559 Brakes

Shimano Altus M310 Rear Derailleur

Skeleton Key Front Derailleur

Silver3 Double Crankset 44/28

Shimano 9spd 11-32t

Felt + Newbaums Grips

MKS Monarch pedals in green
2 King cages

I’m 6’ with a 90.5cm PBH and the bike feels good. The 110m stem is a little long for me but I have an 85mm arriving today.
Originally had a B17 saddle but am finding I prefer something narrower. Currently swapped for the 135mm WTB Volt off my Salsa Timberjack and am finding it much more agreeable.

The felt/newbaums grips are something I wasn't sure about at first but have grown to really enjoy. I'm used to the ESI Chunky and these are smaller in diameter. After a few weeks of riding I've found them to be very comfortable and the look is hard to beat.

Love the green accents of pedals and bar-tape on grips...goes great with the gold. Nice unboxing photos...I really like the thoughtful and fun  details on the frame itself. Glad the bike brings you joy..:)

Hello Stephen,

I’m not too far away in Oklahoma City.  Welcome and brilliant build!  I hope to ride a Charlie one day.

Well done

Best,

Drew
