Hi, all.

I saw something somewhere on the mighty webbernet that suggested that it was a bad idea to use a stem-with-a-shim with a Bosco bar. I recall no explanation being given. I can easily imagine, though, that the leverage of the Bosco' might problematically encourage undesirable rotation. Or perhaps there's some other problem I'm not seeing.

Anyway, does anyone have any experience with a Bosco mounted via a shimmed stem?

I'm contemplating using a Bosco (or something like it) with a Nitto lugged stem. As far as I know, there is no 25.4mm Nitto lugged stem and there is no 26.0mm Bosco bar.

Hi Thomas,
I used a 58cm aluminum Bosco with Nitto shims on a Nitto Lugged stem on my Bombadil and never had any slipping issues, even in (not crazy) off-road use.
cheers,
Andrew in Sydney

Thanks, Andrew. That's all the "permission structure" I need.

Now I must consider:

"more beauty" - standard 190mm quill with Bosco

vs

"more versatility" - 225mm quill adapter + 0-degree-threadless with Bosco-or-Tosco-or-Albatross-or-maybe-even-Billie
