Was somewhat limited by parts I have on hand that fit the intended color-way, but might experiment briefly with some lighter parts later to see if I could get to the magical 20 lbs... That said, this Charlie came out nice, I think. 

(Pardon the setting – weather kinda dreary here of late, but thought I'd share, in case folks are contemplating a non-silver build.)

Got to ride it around the block today... Very sprightly! 
(Need to add a few links to that chain... 118 is not enough!)

The black looks good, nice to see something out of the norm when it comes to a Riv build!  25 lbs is not bad at all.

It looks super fun.  I like the ironic modern Shimano crankset on a Rivendell with Boscos.  I agree that the chain length needs attention ;-)

I won't have a build to show because I put a critical part on my Christmas list.  The good news is I spied a small package in the mail, so it looks like my semi-reliable son managed to order it on time.  :-)

Help a novice mechanic out here; what clue is in the pic that suggests the chain is too short? Is it that it appears maxed out but is not on the big ring?

Very nice Max, you are furthering my recent obsession with black seatpost and stem combo. Anybody got a black nitto s65 out there?
