hi all
im selling my quickbeam. every bike has a story and heres is this ones.
at some point in in its life it has had a schlumpf crankset installed. this requires a modification of the bb shell edge. a 45 chamfer is cut into the edge of each side o fthe bottom bracket. this edge is for the schlumpf bb to "bite" into. as it relates to normal non-schlumpf cranks, you must use a bb with a tall flange on the drive side.one that sticksk out past the ouotside radius of the bb.  alternately you could use a phil wood style bb that has 2 seperate retaining rings.
this quickbeam has neither. just a regular shimano from the lbs. it does not have the high flange and goes in a little more than normal on the drive side. consequently it doesnt go in as far on th eother side. i have ridden this bike for a year in 40x16, 40x14fixed, 32x16, and 32x14 fixed with no problems whatsoever. nitpickers will fix it, those who arent wont.

also, at some point in time something has dented the down tube ever so slightly. i mean just barely. right above the water bottle, as seen in the photo.
parts are:
original wheelset- araya rims and the cool suzue free/free high flange hubs. currently has 14t cog and 16t freewheel.
panaracer pasela 700x35
nitto tech dlx 10cm
aluminum albatross bars
cork grips
old shimano mtn levers
shimano cantilever brakes
sugino 40x32 quickbeam crank
crystal fellow seatpost

i would like $1200. buyer pays paypal fees and shipping to the conus only.
thanks for your time
