Can anyone supply a photo that I can pass on to a friend who is installing his first Longboards?

I have one for a metal fender, but he'd appreciate an SKS photo.

(He knows about the spacer and was planning to install one until I told him about bending the lower strut.)

Thanks.

This may not answer your question but this is the route I took when installing the front SKS fender to my Disc Trucker.  Performed some creative bending to the struts.  Additionally, if something ever did get sucked up between the front tire and fender, there is room for the struts to lengthen and open the gap between the tire and fender.

Thanks, David, I should have included the information that friend's bike is a BMC with fender strut bosses at dropout level. Your photo does though give an idea how one might bend them to clear an obstruction at dropout level.

FWIW, this is what I did to the (!!! 6mm !!!) struts for the very robust custom Kelpies on my RBFD. Hard to bend such thick struts!

Forgot to say that the brakes are now TRP Hy Rds; strut fit those, too.
