And note that Fausto could easily get as low as Albert in the hooks by
simply bending his elbows. I discovered that having the bar 2 cm above
the saddle on the Fargo didn't mean that I could not get low: if I
bent my elbows 90 degrees I was as low as in the hooks of my road
bikes with bar 2 cm below saddle, tho' shallower drop.
OTOH, I did just the other day reduce the Noodles on the Fargo to even
with saddle because I feel that it gives me better weight
distribution. The hoods are still high enough for long distance
comfort and the hooks for 10 miles at a stretch and the lower flats
and ramps don't feel as tippy.
I expect that really high bars work better with a more forward saddle
position -- am I right? At any rate, my principal beef with very high
bars, even if the bar allows one to bend over to use the important
back and gluteus muscles, is that, when I sit up, I feel as if the
front end is very vague.

A billion stars go spinning through the night
Blazing high above your head;
But in you is the Presence that will be
When all the stars are dead.
