Hiya, I'm after some Shimano Deore T610 v-brakes in silver

They're only available in black it seems (https://www.rivbike.com/products/no-discontinued-shimano-deore-v-brakes-15145-disc) but I want the silver version.

Thanks

Yes I’ve seen those, thanks. They are widely available but I’m slightly put off by the copy on the Riv’s product page where it says “basic and cheap”.

It looks like the brake arm is the same between the Deore and the T4000. The Deore just comes with cartridge pads.

Just get the T4k.

If I was dead-set on buying nice affordable silver V-brakes, I'd probably pick up some Avid's on eBay.

My absolute favorite V brakes are the Shimano XTR that I don't think are made anymore. I am curious about the upcoming Silver branded ones that Riv is bringing out. Sorry to aid in taking this off the rails

I’ve got a set of shimano XT v brakes(and levers) from the same era Johnny is talking about in silver. They rip, and are only out of commission because I’ve got paul motolites.

If someone twisted my arm I’d move them on… and may still with a bunch of other shimano stuff from the same era soon(lx deore v brakes, XTR RD, XT rapid rise, etc).

But for purposes of this thread can send photos of silver XT v brakes/levers if someone wants them!

I have some new never used silver high polish DXR MX-70's I could sell you but they're still available all over the web so you may as well do that when you factor in the cost differences of personal and corporate shipping rates.

Eric, so if I replaced the pads in the Alivio T4000 I could get something nearly as good as the Deores...?

Garth, thanks for the offer, but as you said those are readily available in the web so not interested in buying off another user, but thanks again.

I'll keep an eye on the conversation in case someone unearths a couple of NOS.

Cheers

Swapping the brake pads would likely give you a better brake than the Deores, if you pick nice pads.
