Here's a neat bike I just built. Frame is circuitously courtesy of Ray Varella, with a stop with Eric in San Francisco before I acquired the rights.

51.5 x 54.4
Sugino XD 152cm cranks (I'm a shorty believer) knocked down to a 36t ring and Silver guard, 18t freewheel.
(I have a 16/19 DOS ENO on order and the cranks may end up 38/30, this was the stuff I had around for starters and so far the gearing works for me)
Phil hubs, Mavic Open Pro rims,
Compass Barlow Pass
Silver nee Tektro R559 brakes, Avid levers
Brooks B17 honey
Nitto lugged post
Technomic stem
Ergon grips
And last but not least...LOSCO!

These cut down Boscos (yes, I think it's funny there's a cut down version of a bar whose existence derives from its tallness) popped up on the Riv email last week and there were 15 available and there was NO WAY I wasn't going to be in The 15.

Check out the shallow bend as it drops away from the clamp area. Looks like a Noodle Bar, no? These are the 54cm, super comfy. There's a 48, too.

Thanks for looking at my bike!

Very nice build Joe!
I better take a look at those Losco bars from Riv :-)

Arrrg! The Losco bars are out of stock!
Well, I will just have to wait for the next shipment.

Yep, Will mentioned in the newsletter (which y'all should sign up for) that "this will probably be out of stock before you read this" and I believed him. I put my order in practically before I was sure I had a bike for them!

Nice Build! I have Loscos on my FJSr as well, although I chose a shorter stem and lopped off an inch or so of the handlebars instead. Love these bars, and love the sexy curves. Even though they're OOS at Riv, they appear to still be available from Blue Lug. That's where I got mine, well before Riv carried them.

Nice build, Joe! How does it ride?

Like buttah, Eric. I was slightly nervous it would be a size too small - you can see I have a good bit of post and stem showing - but two things worked in my favor: 1. I need an upright position to accommodate my arthritis so the toptube length works with a long stem, 2. A ladyperson friend of mine has recently informed me that all guys lie to themselves about their height. I told her I was 5'-7" and she said, "Right, you're 5'-6." I believe she's right 😬

It's a great bike, thanks for selling it to me!

Joe, what a beautiful bike!  The bars look terrific.  I love that grilver color and wanted it when I got the Clem.  (Alas, the price was right on a second-hand green one.)

Funny story, Joyce: I would have picked the Homer Blue FJS if I'd had the choice. Fortunately most Riv colors look great 🙂

Joe,
You would have gotten a blue one if I didn’t already have a couple blue bikes.

It looks great.

Grilver is good, too! It really is an awesome bike, it reminds me a lot of my first Riv, a Romulus (and later the similar Rambouillet I had). I'm looking forward to the next singlespeed Grant has discussed.

Joe, do you have links to Grant writing about a new singlespeed bike?
I missed that, and and enjoyable hour reading recent blahg posts didn’t turn anything up.

It sure seems like we talk less about Grant’s writing than we used to. When we do it’s pretty me,or able, though
