Howdy,

I'm looking for one of these:

Please let me know if you have one or two available.

Thank you.

I'm pretty sure that those nuts are unobtanium.  They aren't really necessary for the shifter to work properly, however.  I had a set on a bike for years with a missing nut and never had any issues with slipping.  You just have to be more vigilant about checking the tightness of the bolt occasionally.

You might be able to make a slot in a hardware store nut with a Dremel or a file if you really want the lock nut.  Be really careful to make sure the thread pitch is right, though.  I don't have one in front of me right now, but I think those have a really fine pitch.

Blue Loctite can substitute -- worked for me. And, a hardware store hex nut and a thin-walled socket can also work.

hi kevin,
i have one. i typically only run 1x7/8/9 set ups on my commuter and
use that shifter. ill send it to you if you want the original, but
yeah, the hardware store set up works too.
let me know.
it's free too. unless you really really want to send the fifty cents
for a stamp.

Hey everyone, thanks so much for the quick response, kind offers and
smart suggestions. The Seattle Riv contingent (SRC?) came to the
rescue!

It's good to know that I don't really need it though. I'll definitely
putting a drop of blue Loctite on the replacement, as well as the
other one. Man, I got so much Loctite going on, I'm thinking about
using it to keep my arse on my saddle during this year's rando season.
Blue! Not Red!!
