Both bags were used on a few family camping trips and recreational rides. Obviously good quality products. Now I just really prefer the canvas/leather/brass-or-steel style more akin to Acorn, Berthoud, Carradice, Duluth Pack, they-who-should-not-be-named, RBW, etc. I do still have my Arkel T-42 and T-28 panniers; when it comes to multi-night family camping, where organization and some degree of efficiency in access is a priority, I'll still likely choose those. Everything else... ah, the soft canvas life!
With the grips, I found I prefer either wood or cork to leather.
I'm funding the build of Samuel Green Hillborne, younger brother to Samuel Orange Hillborne. Redundancy: your key to quality commuting!
Here's a kicker: will accept dollar payment only in the form of an RBW gift certificate. No Paypal, no checks. OR, if you have something RBW-ish to trade that you think is worth similar money, I'll certainly consider it. Just let me know.
Please contact me off-list if interested. Thanks!
Yours,
Thomas Lynn Skean
