Hi, all.

$50 - Arkel Big Bar Bag in very good condition; black, 5+ years old, unused for last three years. Missing mounting hardware. New mounting hardware available from Arkel at http://www.arkel-od.com/us/all-categories/bicycle-accessories/spare-hb-clamps.html

$25 - Dapper Dan leather grips, light brown color (don't recall official color name)... Gently used

$25 - Dapper Dan leather grips, dark brown color (don't recall official color name) - Gently used (if at all... I may or may not have even ridden with them)

Pics for both at: http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/7568778/1/bicycle%20cycling/Dapper%20Dan?h=a8effb

All prices include shipping within contiguous US.

Both bags were used on a few family camping trips and recreational rides. Obviously good quality products. Now I just really prefer the canvas/leather/brass-or-steel style more akin to Acorn, Berthoud, Carradice, Duluth Pack, they-who-should-not-be-named, RBW, etc. I do still have my Arkel T-42 and T-28 panniers; when it comes to multi-night family camping, where organization and some degree of efficiency in access is a priority, I'll still likely choose those. Everything else... ah, the soft canvas life!

With the grips, I found I prefer either wood or cork to leather.

I'm funding the build of Samuel Green Hillborne, younger brother to Samuel Orange Hillborne. Redundancy: your key to quality commuting!

Here's a kicker: will accept dollar payment only in the form of an RBW gift certificate. No Paypal, no checks. OR, if you have something RBW-ish to trade that you think is worth similar money, I'll certainly consider it. Just let me know.

Please contact me off-list if interested. Thanks!

Yours,

Arkel Big Bar Bag

I should clarify that my desired form of dollar payment is an RBW electronic gift certificate. I realize now I had not specified which kind of gift certificate. My bad.

All gone

For general information... I won't be doing the gift-certificate-as-payment thing again. Seemed fine in theory but feels "weird" in practice. The gift certificate implementation is fine. But It's not really the intended purpose of the gift certificate mechanism. In retrospect, using RBW as a clearing house seems inappropriate.

They did get some business, though. So I don't feel *too* bad. :)

Thanks to all!

Your buyers spent money at Rivendell in exchange for items from you. I don't see the problem..there's a good chance said buyers spent a few more bucks there while they were at it. Seems like a winner for Grant & Co.
