I'd like to get one of the new design Atlantis bikes, a 62cm version. I intend to travel with the big Atlantis by plane. Its axle-to-axle measure is 128cm.

I have a circa 2019 Evoc Bike Bag Pro that handles a MTB with a wheelbase of 124 cm, with wheels, seat and bars removed. That's the max bike size Evoc says this bag can handle.

I am not sure if these big and long Rivendells are going to fit that Evoc bag, which I think is the largest they make.

Does anyone have any experience with using a bike travel bag for one of the XL Rivendells?  Gotta find a travel bag solution or can't get a Riv bike. Any suggestions for bags/boxes would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hey Tom,

I have a 62 cm Hunq and had to design my own bag for travel here in Japan. Not that this helps much, but if you're willing to learn to sew or find someone who knows their way around a sewing machine you can make your own custom bag. This way you can ride your Riv and bag it too!

Mine is made of very lightweight nylon and packs into a small pocket of the bag. I think I based my design on the ones made by Mont-Bell.

However, for travel on airplanes I always box my bike.

You may want to take a look at Pika Bags. Believe they are based out of Utah and make a very nice soft bag for bike travel. I have one for my XL MTB. They may have one that will fit yours or be willing to do a slight custom for ya.
