I'm just curious, has anyone used one of these things:

I looks like a reasonable-enough option. I have a small-ish Ostrich h'bar bag that I'd use with it, and this seems like a great simple & lightweight option for carrying it. But it also looks like it could potentially be problematic. Anyone have experience?

I have an Ostrich bag supported with a Nitto R-12

The straps on the bag also go under the rear arm of the bag support to pin it very nicely - it doesn't move if you lift the bike sideways.  .

I’ve used one of those on my Ram with an Ostrich bag. It’s okay but there are limits. Since the bag sits high and hangs off the bars, it can effect steering/wheel flop. Also, the platform is small, so you can’t load up the bag with heavy items or the bag will sag. It’s good to carry light loads on longer rides on your road bike.

Got it -- thank you. That's exactly the feedback I was looking for. For my purposes, it sounds like a non-starter. The weight saved isn't worth it. I'll just stick with my Nitto mini front rack + decaleur. Appreciate the input.

oops, I see now - yeah, you can't beat a front rack + decaleur for hanging onto a big bag;
though a smaller bag hanging from an F-15 hoop rack works well also.

I was looking around and noticed Nitto recently introduced an F-18 rack, which makes a Z from the bar to the bag, lgiving you a couple of inches adjustment on the bag height:
