Hillbubba revealed a modification of the Grip King pedals on this list a while back, and a few lucky folks got the early batch of prototypes.  I was one, and finally modified the Grip Kings that came on my Mystery Bike over the weekend.  The mod makes an already great pedal well nigh perfect.  For those of us with wide feet, the GK’s can sometimes lack support for the outside of the foot, but Bill’s modification (designed and created by Bill’s dad) solves that problem, still leaves excellent cornering clearance, increases flexibility for foot positioning on the platform, and generally makes it about the best pedal ever, IMHO.  With all the hoopla about the new Thin Gripster, the old GK still has some life left.  Pic here:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/37542512@N04/8176183506/  And unlike the Thin Gripster, the Super Grip King has a reflector, even with the mod!

I agree, I have about a thousand miles on the modded grip kings and they rock. Much more stable.

Thanks to both of you.  My pop is building tooling that will allow me to produce them at whatever rate I want.  Waiting for him to get around to it reminds me where I got the genetic coding to complete 85% of a project and then move on to something else.  Each time I call home I ask about it, but virtually every time my Mom has prioritized a home improvement project over my tooling.  My apologies to those that have emailed and asked to have their name on "the list".  I still have the list, and still promise to contact list people first.  No hard feelings if you tell me to get lost when I finally do get to the list.

If only MKS could make a Grip King mod and give them sealed cartridge
bearings and metal dustcaps. Sigh.

Let me help you on the path to these fantastic pedals.
My pair of unadulterated Grip Kings have way less than 50 miles on them.
They are yours for $45 shipped in CONUS.
No guarantee you will love them.
I didn't.
