Guidonette levers on Choco?

Has anyone tried the Dia Compe guidonette levers on the Chocobar?

From the pics I see on the VO page they appear to have quite a drop to them, meaning you really gotta reach down to them. May or may not work for you depends on what you prefer.

I like how they follow the curb of the bar so I can reach the brakes quickly from several hand positions. However, the levers flex too much when you squeeze them toward the ends. Only confident stopping power for me comes from braking where the lever enters the bracket. I feel ambivalent about the performance.

I have used them on some porteur handlebars, which are kind of like narrower Choco bars. I personally wouldn't recommend using them. Heavy braking is difficult from the ends. Because of the leverage you have on the ends of the levers in an emergency stop, they may rotate on the bars, no matter how tightly you've mounted them on the bars. Ask me how I know!

I've had the same experience with them on porteur bars. Very little power and the sit very low down from the handlebars. So unless you have very long fingers, they are pretty hard to reach...

I really wanted to like them, but they just didn't work for me.

FWIW, I find bar end brake levers by far my favorite on such swept back bars. With Alba bars I have the shifters mounted just around the inside of the curve top, so my hands are free to use the whole bar. Using the brakes is so much easier too than mtb levers since you can brake with either your pinkie or + next finger, and there is alot of strength with just those one or two fingers !
