Banana sax vs Berthoud saddle bag

Has anyone owned both of these? 

Riv lists the banana sax as  7x9x5, which is ~ 5L give or take, probably a little less given the taper. Berthoud lists the saddle bag volume as 2.4L. In pics the banana sax does not look twice as large.

I've owned both, although my memory of the Berthoud is 20-or-so years ago now. I'm not sure I buy that the Banana Sax is literally twice as large - I suspect Riv is reporting max stuffing and Berthoud an empty bag - but the Riv bag is notably larger.

And the medium bag.  I have a like new medium I am going to sell as I find the small to be surprisingly roomy.  

I am also using a handlebar bag so I can do ok with the smaller.
