2011 Rebates, Membership

Anyone whose membership is current or expired after September 1, 2011
gets one. Everything for every order on the new site is included. It
combines old site and new and will post in the form of a gift
certificate balance that you can access through the My Account link on
site. At least easier to deal with than before.

To guarantee that you'll get it in a timely, easy fashion make sure
you have registered on the new site with the same email you've used
with us in the past. We'll sort out issues as they come along, but
make sure your stuff is up to date.

Starting next year, membership is gratis. Once a member, always a
member. Five percent rebates will continue and free shipping on all
orders over $150 excluding wheels/frames/rims/bikes.

And rebates will be a live, ongoing thing. Not a once-a-year thing.
It'll work like this:
Place an order for $100 on Monday. Twenty four hours later on Tuesday
you'll be able to use your $5 rebate. It'll be good for 365 days. The
rebates keep adding up as you place orders, expiring as they hit 365
days. Cash them out whenever you want. For big bike purchases, you
don't have to wait till Jan to cash in. You can do it the next day.

We reserve the right to change this deal, but I wanted to clear up
confusion before it happens.

Dave, should the title of this post be "2012" rebates? I just checked my gift certificate balance, and it shows $0.00, though I have made purchases via the website, and in person at RBWHQ, this year, this month, even.

I hope the system works out, and RBW stays afloat. It's nice to get a rebate, sure. Reminds me of the old days, when there were members-only discounts on nearly all items.

They did mention that any orders placed before 9/26/2011 do not show up on-line, but they have the info at HQ. In light of that, my account seems to be up to date. I like the new system!

My understanding is that accumulated 2011 rebates will be awarded as a lump sum in early 2012 and that the new "next day" rebate policy goes into effect after the new year. There's a lot of assumption on my part though.

As a mostly unrelevant but sort of vaguely related side note... gotta love those procrastinating family members who live across the country. I got an early Xmas present last night from just such a relative. It was an email Riv gift certificate.... the gift that keeps on giving.
