I saw an Atlantis on College Avenue yesterday afternoon (actually just across the border into Oakland), and stopped to check out its wooden fenders. Pretty clean attachment fixtures, with flat smooth rivets showing on top surface of the fenders, and simple bent 90-degree brackets off the sides, to support the fender stay attachments/binders. No camera to take pictures, but whoever's it is - thanks, it was just the inspiration I needed to resolve getting my own redwood flats onto my two Rivs.

I think there have been discussions of these before, but Woody’s Fenders can be an easy and attractive solution to some thorny fender  installation issues (because they’re flat, they bend easily in the longitudinal direction, allowing easy removal of a rear wheel with rear-facing drops, for example), and although they’re flat, they do a good job (with mud flaps installed, at least) of keeping road spray off rider and out of headset, at least in anything short of a real downpour.  Here’s a pic of the Woody’s flat fenders on my Quickbeam, my most frequently ridden bike in all kinds of weather. http://www.flickr.com/photos/37542512@N04/4412267966/in/set-72157623567913352  Cody at Woody’s also offers compound curve fenders, which are even better at preventing road spray, but don’t bend as easily and so are not as easy to install in difficult applications – here are  a couple of pics of the compound curve fenders on my SimpleOne, now in the hands of my son in D.C.: http://www.flickr.com/photos/37542512@N04/6906527983/in/set-72157629391118347 and http://www.flickr.com/photos/37542512@N04/6905323995/in/set-72157629391118347 .

Not exactly, the side brackets were simple flat "L" pieces, looked like.

But Woody's fender nuts look good, almost rivet-like but actually threaded fasteners. I should get a few pairs to try.

Paul Sykes fenders maybe?

... though I've found flat-section fenders can pose a challenge with
sidepulls, depending on the clearances/widths involved.

But easy to surgically cut out necessary clearances, without compromising structural integrity -- a plus for wooden fenders
