I don't read Bike Snob NYC regularly but I was checking the site this morning and noticed the RBW ad. It's pretty funny. Check it out:

I had seen that ad before.  It is very cute.

The highlight Riv-content of that BSNYC in my opinion, was Eben labelling Cornell as the MicroShift of the Ivy League.

No disrespect to Cornell, but that WAS pretty funny... Kinda like the late Sam Kinison describing Teddy Kennedy as the "Shemp of the Kennedys"...

I couldn't find the ad. But I don't want to wade through the sea of profanity and misanthropy to get to it on that Bikesnob site.

At this point I must give a personal "Thank You" to Grant Petersen for keeping his RBW site/knowledge base, book, and RivReaders civil, polite, and profanity free. Makes it a joy to read and learn about bikes!

If this develops into a thread about civility, politeness, and profanity, can it please be done offlist?

Come on, lighten up! Bike snob is hilarious in my opinion although its admittedly not for everyone lets remember he is "selling" only his writings and ad space so a bit of a different realm than GP lives in.  and lets not pretend that the "pros' are saints. I have never heard of a sport where someone dropped the "c-word" in an interview like Wiggins did over the summer. Totally inappropriate, but awesomely spoofed by Bike Snob. Hail Lob.

Anyone have a direct link to the ad. I'd like to see it. Can't find it.

Here's the ad: http://imageshack.us/a/img684/1350/bsnycadtiffany.jpg

I think RBW has run it in previous years.

Five years ago maybe.  Been a long time since I visited, but recall when I did he was still at the same old schtick.  About the same as turning on SNL only to see Will Ferrell still doing his Janet Reno imitation.

Meh, it is free and a 5 minute read down. Its not like its always hilarious or I read it every single day but when I do I at least get a few chuckles. Then again, I am not doing brain surgery and I am not an astronaut so I do have a spare 5 minutes every now and then. A small amount of time compared to what I spend at the RBW site building my wishlists for when I win this raffle. Mystery bike-esque but with Rohloff setup, seems like the ideal configuration for city riding(at least IMO). :)
