Very nice. Dry falls are my favorite time for long rides. Nice bike too.

Yas, yas, yas.!....can feel the nip in the air, can smell the burning leaf piles and the woodsmoke, can see my Blerito still beneath me, the path blurred by motion... yas, Yas, Yas..!..

It is in the autumn that I miss the NE. Thank you for the photographs.,

Cheers

Was a great day for a ride.  25 miles on the SimpleOne.  Temps in the 50's and semi-sunny skies.  Normally the Rivendell would be inside by now and the other bikes would have the studded tires on.  Hopefully that can be put off for a little while at least. (Said while whistling and touching wood).

These were some MUPs that I haven't spent much time on lately
I took them to get to my favorite Indian restaurant for lunch with my step-son.
Then I rode back home the same way. Triple the fun.

Ride, eat, ride.
.
Mups are so relaxing (and beautiful)  after commuting to work all week on streets with cars. Though my commute is very pretty, too.

Eric -- thanks for some of the nicest photos I've seen in a while (referring to the earlier ones, too). It's all so ... green! And the dirt and gravel is so smooth and groomed! And -- I've not seen the S1 headbadge before: what a *nice* badge! Simple but in no way crude.

What tires? And how fat can the S1 go? I really must build up a ss for dirt roads. (Adding another want to the long list ...)

Patrick,

Thank you.  The SimpleOne easily takes a Schwalbe Dureme 40 with room for fenders.  Could one fit a 45mm without fender?  I dunno.  Maybe. Might give it a try next spring.  40 is as big as I have right now.  And I'm not sure what the actual size is.  They're very, very close to the 38mm Marathon Racers I have on my Cross Check.

Interesting that you find it green.  We're still in a long term drought.

Our "normal" is 9" a year and we too are in a dought with about 2/3 of that so far this year. Your drought would be our 40 year flood!

Since you live in that area do you ever ride down that College Ave. road to Ellicott City?  And then back up again on New Cut Rd?  We were in that area at the end of Oct. to see the new grand daughter and, of course, once the spouse found out about the shoppes at Ellicott City we just HAD to driver over there.  We saw lots of bikers on the steep, narrow, winding road so I assume it's a popular route.  We had to cut the trip short, though, since we were chased out by Sandy.

@George,

Yes, I have been through there before. It is alot of steep hills, but do-able. Not as bad as I thought it would be.

There is alot of nice forested riding in the area. Some flat, some steep, as you saw.

There is also a nice trail called the Grist Mill Trail, that is nearby downtown Ellicott City. Very pretty and mostly flat. Forested, with some small stone ruins and bridges and two wooden bridges that span a river. Connects to a park where you can ride more. Also has MUP dirt trails that connect to it if you are into off-road riding.
