I contributed a few photos of my new Hillborne in the mustard thread, and have a few more to contribute here.

I purchased a used Waterford-built Atlantis about 10 years ago, and it was perfect in every way. A worm must have found a portal into my brain because I sold the frameset after a few years of ownership. It was a significant mistake. This Hillborne has filled the void. The geometry is damn close to the old Atlantis, and the new Hillbornes have the requisite tire clearance and DT shift bosses that I desire. It took Grant a few iterations to arrive at the perfect machine.  It would be better than perfect if it had a threaded mudguard boss beneath the seat stay bridge, and a third set of bottle bosses beneath the down tube.

The tires mounted at Hutchinson 45c Tundras. They measure 49mm on the DT TK 540 rims (18mm internal). Most of the parts were originally hung on my old Atlantas. Someone did their homework when they made those parts.

Here are a few more photos that illustrate the tire clearance that you may find helpful if you are contemplating tire fitment on your Hillborne.

Looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear about you lamenting the loss of your Waterford Atlantis. I'm glad though that Rivendell still offers the Sam for those of us who enjoy the classic geometry and relative adaptability of the older, classic Atlantis models (pre long wheelbase, upright bar geometry). Not that the new Atlantis isn't awesome, but I'm still a bit perplexed as to why the new Atlantis and the Appaloosa exist as such similar models... especially now that they seem to be dabbling in offering both models in the same colors varying only in model releases. The new Hillborne, especially with the design tweaks, seem to fill that classic flagship model niche that the older style Atlantis filled.

Nicely done - love the color contrast of the green bar tape.

I've been repeatedly impressed by the variety of build styles the Hillborne lends itself to.  I'm running Albatross bars on my mustard Sam and have been more than pleased with it on both pavement and dirt, but it sure looks good with those drops and down tube shifters.  Bet you're going to have fun answering the question "How old is that bike?"
