Hi Group,

Not having a set of Alba's has left me with some nagging anxiety...

I don't have any immediate plans to mount a set of these, but I think I'll feel better knowing a set are out in the garage.

Help me lessen my anxiety. PM me if you have a aluminum set in good shape. Please include a pic and what your asking? We'll figure the shipping cost. Of course payment via PayPal.

Warm Regards,

~Hugh

Going full Bosco might be better in these circumstances.

Albatross FTW. Always nice to have a set to swap in - changes the ride more than any other bar and produce fun fun fun. My 2x10 Hunquapillar will begin with an Alba set - probably going to stay that way, although the bullmoose beacon... let's ride Albatross in So Call when a pair comes your way.

Hugh,

This has got to be "post of the day" :)

I'd love to be able to help, but all three of my alba bars are installed and in use on my bikes.

Someone help this guy out.  Alba separation is serious stuff.

John,

I honestly like the Albatross bars and know my mental state will be relieved once I have a set. I have a set in my Riv cart in a holding pattern waiting...

I like where you're going with the Bosco's

Warm Regards,

~Hugh

Estaban,

Now that's a great idea. An Albatross ride.  I think fittingly near the ocean at a leisurely pace will do. My Hilsen has never had the pleasure of these bars, the time has come.

Warm Regards,

Chris,

Glad you like the flavor of the post...

...this really is serious and your Alba bloggery is making it so much worse!! Thanks for that Chris. And you had to mention all three of yours are in service ;)

Cheeky Warm Regards,

I had a set of Albas once. I only bar-taped them in the grips because that creamy, blingy, nickel looking metal sheen was just so beautiful on the bars. I didn't want to cover the finish up.

Honestly, I have never ridden Bosco's. But I keep wanting to put a set on my Hillborne as it is the best bike of my two (other is a Bleriot) to make an upright bike out of. I'd like a bike for riding with the wife. She rides about 10mph average speeds and I mostly coast on my drops when I ride with her so the pressure on the hands and feet and butt are apparent when we ride together on her commutes. I think it would be fun to coast along with her while sitting bolt upright on Boscos on my Sam.

I also think Boscos look nicer from the side of the bike than Albas.

Just for fun, here are shots of my Hillborne when it had the Albas on it.

John,

I just have a different perspective than you regarding the Bosco's I think they look quirky in profile, where as the Alba's have an esthetically pleasing swooping curved shape.

I rode a 84' Stumpjumper with Bosco's and I really couldn't stand the ride or look. Perhaps on a different bike I'd appreciate them.

Those images of your Alba Sam are gorgeous and required I pop another Zolof.

Warm Regards,

~Hugh

Separation anxiety is lessening I'm down from three Zolofts a day down to one thanks to my good friend Tom Virgil. Sometime today he's making the Alba drop off at an undisclosed San Diego location. Once the Alba's and I are acquainted I figure I can go off this nasty pharma and live life anxiety free knowing that soon one of my rigs will afford an upright position.

Thank you all for playing along and a big Riv hug to you Tom.

Warm Regards,

~Hugh

Hi David,

Doug and Noel have a wonderful back bay ride around Newport...I really need to get one of these rides on the books.

You're in the loop.

Warm Regards,

Hey Chris, I stopped in at Rob's place on Saturday.  He was working on switching out the drop bars on his Rambler with a set of Alba's.

Hope all is well with you in TX.  Sounds like you've had your share of weather lately.

I got a Bosco not being used, but both sets of Albas are mounted on bikes. You know honestly the aluminum ones are fractionally lighter, but I like my steel ones better.
