The Nitto lugged seatpost is now available from Riv in 26.8. When did this happen? Was it just yesterday? This is a big event to me.

I actually posted something about this the last week in November(your Thanksgiving)  because I thought a few people on the list might welcome that news....since there is a dearth of options for nice seatposts in 26.8. It was in the weekly newsletter

Big deal indeed! I could now run a b17 on my specialized sequoia!

Agreed, Laing, I think a lot of us have been crossing our fingers for this option for quite a long time

I'm glad for everyone's sake Riv arranged something with Nitto to offer these posts, since so many of their frames now take this size of seatpost and some of the other options were rather ugly and apparently suffered from QC problems. Would be nice if the S65 and S83( which I am a big fan of)  came in 26.8, since they are less spendy...but that is a big and probably unrealistic ask.

LOL!  It's a Christmas Miracle!

When I picked up my RoadUno complete, it was one of the scratched ones.  They opened three boxes and gave me my pick, and said they were figuring out how much of a discount they were going to give.  I offered to take the worst scratched one for a free upgrade to a 26.8mm S83, and they happily said yes to that.

My forthcoming CHG build will have a different but timeless 26.8mm seatpost on it...

Holy....yes,Virginia and Riv owners whose frames take 26.8 seatposts....there is a Santa Claus. Actually now that I think about it, didn't Will say something about an S83 upgrade available for Roaduno buyers?

I was so enamored of those seatposts I switched out the Campy SR fluted ones I had on my early all-rounder and Road models to S83s because I liked Nitto's  elegant understated look (although maybe not the Nitto laser-etched logo so much).

And what would that timeless 26.8mm seatpost be, Bill? Or maybe you already mentioned it?

Ryan asked three questions:

1. " didn't Will say something about an S83 upgrade available for Roaduno buyers? "  Probably he did.  I know they were bummed about the scratching.  The Face-plater stem was badly padded and gouged the top tube.  It was right in the spot where the Choco bars and/or brake levers would hit the top tube in-use, so I hid the area with purple Newbaums and shellac, so it looks deliberate and nobody knows about the scratch.  By the time I uncover the scratch I expect the rest of the bike to have its own beausage

2. " And what would that timeless 26.8mm seatpost be, Bill? "  Dura-Ace 7410

3. " Or maybe you already mentioned it?"  Yes I did :-)

Thanks Bill...now I remember you mentioning the dura-ace...which is very elegant and totally fitting for those meticulous and eclectic builds that entertain and instruct us all (not being sarcastic at all)
