This is killing me.

I've come to grips that this bike is too big for me. Anything more than 42mm tires and my standover clearance is *severely* limited.  "Severely" meaning non-existent. I have a DTT Hilsen as well, and it fits me to a T, so the Bomba has to go, in favor of something (smaller bomba or hunqa maybe) I can take take on some of the more dicey trails around here.

This Bomba needs a taller owner.

I had the frame and fork powdercoated chocolate brown earlier this year (it had clearcoat on it originally) and decaled it myself.  The seat tube decal is slightly misaligned...can be replaced. Still looks great.

The frame and fork are 100% functional and solid as a rock.  Normal chainsuck marks, and a few random dings as should be expected.  It has always been fendered, and well cared for.   Links below point to pictures taken on tour last August.

$1500.00 + shipping takes it.  Includes the headset and sweet cream longboard fenders which match it really well.

Thanks for looking.  Please contact with questions!

Rather than 'old school' I prefer to call my parallelotube Bomba the 'ultralight' model.  :)

OK, not to be intentionally obtuse, but someone's gotta ask:

How can it be too big if you have so much seatpost showing in your
pic, even with the 6 degree (I think) TT upslope, and especially with
a "thick" saddle such as a Brooks B17? As reference, my LHT with a
non-level TT and a B17 has maybe 3 inches of seatpost showing.

Sincerely,
B

First, there is a buyer for the frame!  I'm very happy about this, as It is going to a good home.

Second, if I'm understanding your question and explanation, Benzzoy, the saddle height is perfect.  The bike fits almost perfectly (a tad bit tight in the standover dept...I should have gotten a 60cm) in it's current configuration (those are 38mm tires in the pics). It's the standover that is the question, and only when running fatties.

Sorry Patrick, for being unclear.

I was wondering how you can have standover issues when the TT-to-
saddle distance is rather large compared to, for example, my LHT. I
measured my bikes and all have TT-to-saddle distances of around 6 to 7
inches, even though most do not have level TTs. In your pic, your TT-
to-saddle distance appears to be easily 9" (may be an illusion), so
you should have about 3" more clearance than I do, not counting bigger
tires, smaller BB drop or greater slope to the TT. Generally, the TT-
to-saddle distance is typically indicative of how much standover you
have.

In any case, I'm merely curious. Congratulations on finding a new
home for your Bombadil!

Sincerely,
B

I wonder that also.....but one mans clearance is different than
anothers. Perhaps when using as a trail rider he wants a little more
for stepping over the top tube when hauling stuff on the rear rack....
but yea. I figure if I can 'stand over' flat footed with my shoes on
level ground that's good enough for me but I am primarily a pavement
rider. I sure do love the horizontal double top tube look and wish the
Hunk was so configured but in my size it doesn't have extra anyway so
moot......

I call my buddy's parallel TT Bomba, and my single TT Sam,
'superlights'.
