I am delighted to say that I just purchased my first Rivendell
bicycle. Dick Denning and his father, Dick Senior, with the Country
Bike Shop, Celina, Ohio, met me part way (I live in Memphis,
Tennessee) to deliver the bike. Photos here:

The entire process has been great. Dick was on top of things from
beginning to end--even though I threw him a curve by switching my
frame choice in the middle of things. My wife, who joined me for the
pickup and fitting, was amazed at Dick's enthusiasm and expertise. (I
was also, although my calls and emails had prepared me for our
meeting.) Dick and his dad were great. I can't recommend them highly
enough. (No, I don't own stock in the company.) :-)

I've only had one ride so far--about 35 miles. Can't wait to get back
on the bike. More later. I just wanted to get this post and photos up.

Avagadro would be a good name for a bike.

Dick met me near Indianapolis when he delivered my Hilsen this past November. I enjoyed seeing the photos of your fitting. I was so excited that day I neglected to take any pictures.

Enjoy your new Riv Pat, It's a beauty!

Very nice bike, Pat.  It looks a lot like my Bleriot with similar color and build, right down to the tan bar tape and STI.  Enjoy many miles on it.  Steve

Nice bike, and indeed good to get another 2TT on the road!

Hope you took in the National Corvette Museum while you were there (you caught their sign in one of your picture).  Definitely worth the time.

Best,

Jim in Boulder

How does that bike feel? The geometry is very similar to the
Hunqaillar,I'm wondering if the San Marcos is more like a light road
or cross bike. I would think so with the Tange Prestige tubing.

I'm amazed at the feel of the bike. I've been riding a Specialized Roubaix (carbon frame). Although the San Marcos is several pounds heavier, on the road it feels lighter and much more agile than the carbon road bike. Dick told me I'd be amazed at the difference. He was not exaggerating. Sorry, I don't know how this bike compares to the Hunq.

The bars are 44cm Soma Hwy One Bars. The stem is the Nitto 8cm Technomic.

My 63 San Marcos is on the way. Bought on eBay which was quite a bit
cheaper than a Canadian LBS.

Yours looks great Pat - hope you will give a thorough ride report when
you have a chance.

Mine will be built up with 10 speed Campy Velcoce that is coming off
my Marinoni Sportivo (its getting Chorus/Athena 11) + Campy Zonda
Wheelset.

I will post pics when built up
