I have panniers I want to use more but don't want the weight of a rear rack as I have rarely use them when I have had them so I want some inconspicuous lowrider front rack, at least I think I do.

I like the original salsa down under rack but it's not available anymore or anywhere but I am also considering the tubus duo but it's pricey and can be hard to get in the states. HAR is even more expensive and designed for the proprietary sackville bags so it is low on my list.

What do people use or have used with success and may want to offload?

Thanks in advance!

If you have the appropriate mounts for the Tubus Duo that's the obvious
rack to get. In fact, aren't Duo rack mounts unique and specific to
that rack? If you have ordinarly low rider mounts, the Tubus Tara is
the one to get, in my opinion. I got mine, painted silver, from a
supplier in the UK. Only black ones are imported to the US.

I have a black Tara rack and it's great. My Hillborne didn't have the appropriate braze-on for it but the tubus clamp mounts are bombproof.

I use stand lowrider racks from tubes on the Atlantis, AHH and same trick works on the Hilbourne..  I bought the door hinge strap whatever the hell it is for 89 cents for 4 I think.... here it is mounted...

Note it's been running this way for 4 years and hasn't been a problem.

Feel confident ordering directly from Germany. I've bought from Bike24 twice, no drama, no hassle.

Returns are probably a non-starter, but you could probably re-sell with minimal depreciation.

Check with Wayne at The Touring Store:  http://www.thetouringstore.com/index.htm   I use the Duo on my Atlantis & like it a lot.  I'm not sure Tubus adapter works with the Duo.  It's intended for a mid fork eyelet a specific dimension above the fork eyelet.  However, I've mounted mine to hourglass eyelets just below the canti posts, with the lower mount to the fork via a P-clamp.  This raises the panniers enough that I can run my large Ortleibs up front.

Have you looked at Bruce Gordon??  The front rack seems well made.
