I forgot to mention that this frame size has 650b wheels. It is currently shown with size 50-584 (aka 27.5 x 2.00) tires but it has plenty of space for a larger tire. The tire size as shown is limited by the Axa frame lock, which is convenient but not necessary and can be removed.

Valerie,
That color is so nice and I love the curved seat stays. I am really tempted as then I would have both the L and H versions of the venerable Clem. Someone will be getting a somewhat rare Clem H in pristine condition. I wonder how this would ride as a single speed?

Doug — That would be a sweet pair to have. There have been a few discussions re single-speeding the Clem H. Here’s one.  Looks good and sounds enjoyable. As much as I want to downsize, I do love my  bikes. They are so fun and versatile.

John — that looks great! I am curious about your bag support. I think I have that same one but it never seemed to fit. Even on yours, it comes so close to the wheel. I think that’s why it landed in my to be sold bin. Mine did not come with the additional supports in the rear. Do you have a link to it or picture so I can see how it works more clearly? (Am I allowed to derail my own conversation? 😁 )

Hi Valerie,

Derail away!

Here's the link the the support struts on Carradice's site: https://carradice.co.uk/shop/accessories/bagman-support-struts/?v=11aedd0e4327

Of course, I got them because the bag kept rubbing on the rear tire. The struts stabilize the bagman rack enough to keep it from rubbing when your bike hits a bump, etc. but the bag could still rub depending on how things inside shifted around during the ride. To solve this, I added a little plastic bridge held on with zip ties (has worked fine for 3 years now) to keep the cloth from the bag from dipping down.

All said and done, the classic saddle rack (not the bagman, but this one: https://carradice.co.uk/shop/accessories/saddle-bag-rack/?v=11aedd0e4327) works much better and is easier to take on and off. And fenders are also another solution (I have another bagman on different bike, and never have any rubbing because that bike has fenders).

cheers,

John

Val,

Sent you an email yesterday - just didn’t want to post everything publicly.  I’m certainly interested in the Clem H.

Frame is sold! Very happy to have it go to a list member and a former Clem owner. I know it will be appreciated and enjoyed.

I will follow up on the other bits after I evaluate whether there are any swaps I want to make with my remaining bikes. . .

John — thanks for these links. The added struts could make it work in my setup. . .
