My girlfriend decided she wanted to switch from wavie bars to bullhorns on her Roadini which required reconfiguring the whole cockpit. The bike is set up as a 1x so the single thumbie mount for the Silver2 shifter works nicely on the stem, albeit slightly off center. Thought I’d share as I hadn’t seen this setup before and to solicit any thoughts on why this might be a bad idea.

Looks good to me. The one caveat about stem mount is that it's kind of a wonky handling effect while reaching for the shifter, but a steady left hand on the bar is sufficient to counteract it.

If you have enough space, you can fit the mount as a headset spacer without the shim. In practice either option works just fine.

Joe — that’s true, but she’ll get used to it quickly!

David — I dig your approach. I’ll probably switch it over to the headset once the local co-op opens up again. Thanks for the idea!

Always a fan of stem mount shifters for a clean cockpit and ease of changing setups. Using a thumby there is a great idea for a x1 setup.
Good thinking!

Silver2 on the stem... my next major move for my Joe. And back to Albas after a couple of thousand miles on noodles.
