Tim,

I'm interested in the lil loafer.

Is it tan? From the picture it's hard to tell.

I have a tan on my Atlantis. Thanks.

Hi Tim,
I wanted to ask what your thoughts were on the Baggins HbarBag. Did having the rack attached to the handlebar interfere while riding? Are there any particular features that you really like about the bag? Not sure if you did this, but could you attach the Baggins bag AND a Lil' Loafer at the same time?

Thanks,
tony

@Tony... please pardon my butting in...

I think whether the Baggins HbarBag and Li'l Loafer work together or not is (practically speaking) sensitive to stem-versus-rack height. With a big frame and/or a tall stem, it can work. I have both a big frame (60cm Hillborne) and a tall stem and the "modern versions" of those bags (BarSack and TrunkSack Smalll) work fine. I don't have perfectly clear access to the TrunkSack. But fundamentally I can get at it, even without removing the BarSack. I have to peel back the top and approach the contents from an angle. (Peeling back the top may be more tedious with the Li'l Loafer, as its top peels toward the head tube.) With a 52cm Hillborne and a "slammed" stem, I'm doubt it'd work at all.

(Mine's the one in the back :))

You can adjust things to your favor a little by angling the BarSack/Baggins HbarBag.

Thomas, many thanks for weighing in with your thoughts and experiences. I really liked the photo that you attached because it illustrates exactly what I was originally inquiring about---good stuff! It's nice to see that this combination may work is you've got enough height to play with. While having a really big bag up front adds carrying ability, I really like your set up because it just seems really easy to separate and organize things you want to carry. For example, I can imagine having snacks, a camera, and other incidentals in the box at the top, and other things in the Li'l Loafer that needn't be as accessible.

By the way, it's good to see a handle bar bag, saddle bag support, and kickstand on the little bike. Gotta get kids started on the right track at an early age!

Heh heh... On our campouts he uses that support to carry his own sleeping bag and the bag for his own knick-knacks. And in the case of that picture I think he had the week's sandwich meat from the deli; we had just gotten back from a big shopping trip.

Bikes are great!

Tony,

Thomas said it pretty well: it depends on stem and head tube height.  Here are a couple of photos of the bag on my 61cm Atlantis with a Big Front Rack.

You could probably squeeze a loafer in there.  I've put a sleeping pad and similar sized things under the bag before.
I never found the rack to be a problem, other than, like all handlebar bags, using a bar mounted light doesn't work so well.  I really liked that it opens to the rear, a big improvement over my Ostrich.

hope that helps,
-tim

Excellent data point. That TrunkSack appears to be under pressure.
