Last month I posted that I had recently sold two frames that were built up with single speed wheels.  At that time I offered up and sold the Silver wheel set.  Now I'd like to offer up the ALL BLACK wheelset (murdered-out as the kids like to say).  These would go great on any Rivendell Road model, like a Ram, Rom, Roadini, or Gallop, etc.  They would go great on any contemporary 100/130mm 700c road frame.  They'd work with skinny tires up to as wide as you are comfortable going with i18 rims.  I rode them with tires ranging from 26mm to 50mm wide.  They are in mechanically excellent condition.

Rims: HED Belgium C2 (not the wider C2 plus). Black with silver Machined Side Walls, 700c,  i18. 32 hole
Rear Hub: Surly Ultra New. fixed/free.  Black.  Bolt on -OR- QR.  130mm
Rear Spokes: Sapim Race black, 3x, silver brass nipples
Front Hub: Shutter Precision PV-8 dynamo, black. 100mm QR
Front Spokes: Sapim Race black, 2x, silver brass nipples

I'm asking $360 for local pickup or $360 plus shipping.  I'll make you a deal on the 17T Sturmey Archer Freewheel ($10) and/or the 700x26 Gravel King SK tires/tubes ($30). $400 total as-pictured.

Here is a weekend BUMP for a nice single speed road wheelset.  Flickr tells me ~300 people looked at the photos but nobody has expressed interest.  This could be the universe telling me to keep them for my next 2x1 (or 3x1) build.

Here's something bonkers you can do with this wheelset. I bought Bill's previous set thinking I would find an old road frame and do a 2x or 3x, Rouduno style. I looked around for a frame, meanwhile my fully geared Clem sat cuz I wasn't feeling much spark for riding a manual bike (my ebike does the monster hills around here now).

One day I looked at the Paul Motolites on it and realized I could probably adjust the pads to fit 700c wheels, and I knew those long bendy steel chainstays would easily clamp down from 135 to 130 overlocknut.

So now I've answered the question: What if a 650b fat-tire Clem got turned into a lighter skinny-tire 700c 3-speed?? It's super fun and I Iove the look.

Buy Bill's wheels, put them on a frame you have kicking around!
