We have a 2015 Clem L. Can anyone tell me the differences in frame geometry between ours and newer Clem Ls.

Depends now on H or L, the published geos for the Hs are still the same, if I remember right. The new Ls get longer effective top tubes, longer chainstays, and a slightly shallower headtube angle to match, I believe.

If this works it should be a copy of the original 2015 geos for the Clems and you can compare with the size and style you’re looking at. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aqk-5-qi6X7DocAQz8vAreA6baZxSQ

Hi, I have the latest geo Clem L (I call it a Clementine) from 2019. It’s in the shop so I can’t take measurements for you, but I can tell you a few things that you may find helpful.

1. Wheelbase on the 52 is just a hair shy of 50 inches. It’s LONG.

2. I needed a 50 mm stem to get the bars close to me. But that’s how I like them - you may feel differently.

3. I had to buy a long wheelbase bar for my Saris bike rack, as it won’t accommodate a bike with a WB longer than 48”. Something to keep in mind, I suppose.

I can’t imagine how long the 59 would be...

Thanks, Zed. I'm guessing therefore, that the newer Clem L has a longer effective toptube and less need for a long-extension stem. Our 2015 Clem L (correctly sized at 52 cm) has a cockpit that feels pretty crowded--even with Dimension HiRise bar and a Dirt Drop stem. I like to ride moderately forward, so I plan to experiment with an Ahearne Map and a 12cm  Technomic stem.

Dave, the newest Clem L chart lists the 52 as having a 65.5 effective toptube, which is somewhat deceiving because the head angle will shoot the bars way back but still..pretty big. OTOH a DirtDrop is a really short stem intended for dropbars, I would definitely start with swapping stems on the L you have.

The response from Leah should be most helpful as she has ridden both. I haven't ridden either but can tell from photos that the new Clementine is looooong. In fact, when I emailed Will about sizing he said the 52 would work for me unless I wanted a really big bike under me with the 59. I guess that's the beauty of a low tt, stand over is not an issue. Grant has said, I think, that the frame was designed with the Bosco handlebar in mind. My 52 Clem H shipped with that bar and a Nitto Tallux stem but I don't remember the length.
