If ever you wanted color on your bike and you didn’t want to worry about clashing, oil slick is here to save you. I have oil slick pedals on two bikes and it never disappoints. OneUp makes one and I have it on Charlie, but there is something about the parts in them that my bike shop doesn’t like. I found these Crank Bros Stamp 7 pedals that seem to be the stuff. And guess what? They are half off on Backcountry.com right now, so I’m adding the link. Today is the last day of the sale. These pedals are so gorgeous in person that my son just longed for a pair. I convinced him I had a pair just lying around so he could have them (he would die if he knew I went and got them for him). His College Clem is becoming rather a rust bucket but it will shed those lime nylon atrocities and sport these oil slick ones instead. Here’s the link!

And here are those two bikes of mine with their oil slick pedals:

This bike has the Stamp 7 in “small”. I would recommend you get large.

Charlie is wearing his OneUps. Prettier oil slick, but if they go bad I have a pair of the discounted Stamp 7s waiting for him.

full support for the crank bros stamps as well! I have a couple large pairs (maybe a 7 and a 3?) in varying levels of silver shininess and I appreciate that they can be serviced and repaired. having some ano color options is always a plus for my aesthetic palate as well •ᴗ•

Good to hear because I haven’t had much chance to use them yet! I got my first pair at the end of the season but I’m betting on them being good. I just could not NOT take advantage of that sale…

Love Stamp pedals. Its usually what I recommend when someone asks. I usually use the plastic low priced ones but do currently have one of the fancier higher end ones.

This may be of minor interest but I have some MKS pedals on my Clem where I thought the traction pins were a little too grippy, like they were chewing up my shoes (or I thought they might). The traction pins are also called set screws, M3x0.5 (I think) and you can get them at Ace Hardware, or anywhere else that has a decent nut and bolt inventory. I got some hex bolts of the same thread pattern and topped half the pins on the pedal with a hex bolt. This, theoretically, softened up the pedal/shoe sole interface, at the expense of some traction. In practice it's not really that noticeable and in the picture, despite using some blue loctite, it appears as though one of the bolts has come off.

Ace has standard silver bolts. These purple anodized ones I ordered specially online. Probably not worth it as the anodization is wearing off.
