I bought this 58 Hunq frame and fork from a list member in 2019.  Though the paint was just fine, I paid Joe Bell $1300ish to repaint it.  If you're not familiar with Joe, he's one of, if not the best bike painters.

It isn't, or has never been clamped on any part of it...it's just sitting in the open padded clamp for these pics.)

More pics here.  If you're seriously interested I'll be glad to take any more pic's you'd like.

It's never been built up since it was repainted.  It's just been sitting in the same box in which Joe sent it to me.  Note -- no headset -- I had Joe remove the one it had since I had planned to put another headset.  The fork is currently held in place with some plastic spacers.

The custom green color is one that Joe created, along with Tom Ritchey if I remember Joe's story correctly.  It looks soooo good with the cream accents.  Joe's paint name for this color is "MSG" (as literally marked on his paint chip board).  M stands for Monkey.  G stands for Green.  I'll let you guess what S stands for :)  Sadly, though a funny name and story, it doesn't do this color justice.  Maybe for this bike we'll call it "HSG" for Hunq S... Green!

Tom, that Hunqa is gorgeous! I have a gray/orange 58 Hunqa and it's my favorite bike by far - If I could only keep one, this would be the one.

I'm tempted to get this as a back up in case something happened to mine, but there's already too many bikes in my life and I should be selling not buying bikes.

Good luck with the sale and I'm sure whoever gets this is going to be very very happy.

Best,
Max

PS. Your photos are tiny in that google drive, maybe you uploaded the wrong ones?

Tom,

I’ve been fortunate enough to own a frame that was painted by Joe in the past. He work is truly one of the best in the industry. Might I ask where you’re located?

Thanks,

Vern

Hey Tom.

Wow! Beautiful. If the others pass it up, please. let me know! This is a beautiful frame, wonderful paint job, and just the type of ride I’m after. Id been looking at Atlantis frames, but this seems like an even better fit for the riding I do out in California.

All the best!! :)
