Hi Laing,

Your Rosco Baby bicycle looks wonderful !

What caught my eyes the most is how the slack angle of the seat tube is in comparison to my Clem. Your VO aluminum chain guard is very cool. I really like the creative way you set up the rear brake cable to your cantilever brake.

How does that work for you  ?

Is your Rosco Baby wheelbase shorter than a Clem's ? ...or ?

Have you test rode it yet ?
If so, how does she ride ?

Thank you for sharing.

Kim Hetzel.

It needs a kid and some stuffed animals on the front and a potty on the back in order to ride right. A scooter on the back will also do.

This post sent me in search of a photo from the first tour we did with our kids - training toilet/hat in tow.

My Clementine (1st batch) and the Rosco both have ~48” wheelbases, I understand that later Clems have longer wheelbases. The chain stays on my Clementine are about 2” longer than the Rosco. I haven’t ridden it yet, but I have the same rear brake setup (but with Tektro cantilevers) on my Medium Mountain Mixte and it works fine. There is some small amount of flex in it, but mountains or even hills are hard to find in south Florida. The backup plan is a 27.2 seat post with a seat post shim in the frame and a Funky Monkey hanger.

This will be my only bike with pullback handlebars. I have a very long torso relative to my legs, so the bars have been unused for many years. I bought the frame because of the long effective top tube for that reason, not to carry children.

Hi Laing,

I just measured my Clem's wheelbase. It's 49 inches. Therefore, there's not much difference.

It sounds like you have the same body proportions as I do, long torso with short limbs. I understand why the choice of "pull back" handlebars.

Would these be Bosco bars or Albatross  ?

Thank you for your insight. Love to hear your test ride results.

Laing,

My apologies for making the wrong call on your handlebars.
They are Boscomoose bars.
Right  ?

The kids up front is such a blast. My nephew loves being up front on my Platypus. Enjoy the rides!

FYI, for anyone who wants a Rosco Bubbe baby edition, Kyle from Allez LA bike shop is selling his personal bike built nicely at his shop. It's in the showroom.
