Hey all -

I have a pair of the non-grooved miesha cork grips, and am hollowing them out myself to allow me to use bar ends -

I just did the hollowing out, and it seems like there is a lot of cork hanging off the end of the bar (i.e. the bar end shifter will have to go through about 1/2" of cork before hitting the end of the handlebar).

Do I have to shorten the grip by sanding off the end that hangs off the bar a bit?

Any help would be appreciated.

and a picture may be helpful to explain what I mean:

also, i have to say, grooving the grips is a pain.

hollowing out the end is easy, the groove around the grip is pretty tough.

i appreciate the pre-grooved grips much more now :-)

I can snap a few pictures of mine as the bar-ends are not installed at
the moment. Should be up in a couple of hours.
