Photos from an 8 mile radius North/South of home though the furthest East/West extent of the riverine bosque is only1-2 miles, at least near me, depending on the extent of the acequia irrigation network in a particular area.

Temp in the mid 80s, slight breeze, humidity indicating the incipient monsoon season at 29%, and wonderful to say, the very fine sand packed down in most places, even dried-clay-like,  thanks to recent rain.

When thou didst not, savage, know thine own meaning,

But wouldst gabble like a thing most brutish,

I endowed thy purposes with words that made them known.

Aside: PSA: I replaced the stout aluminum seatpost with a thinwall titanium seatpost from AliExpress, I think it’s the one with setback show on this web page:

I paid $37 including shipping and state tax but I see that tariffs have added >$20. Still, even at ~$60 it’s a good deal, IMO. I’ve noticed that those small, hard bumps don’t “sting” as much now as with the stout aluminum post, this at the same pressures in the same tires on the same wheels. I had a similar but reversed experience a few decades ago when I swapped out the slightly undersized and continually slipping thinwall ti Sycros seatpost for a very nice and very light American Classic aluminum post; all of a sudden it felt as if I had added 30 psi to my tires.

Moral: Drop 2-3 psi from your tires (me: ~54 mm Thunderburts, drop from 20 to 17-18 psi for dirt) and use one of these seatposts and your will experience, if not saddle heaven, at least noticeably greater comfort over small, sharp bumps like washboard or, as in today’s ride, small choppings and bumps and potholes in fine river sand that was wetted by recent rains and dried into clay as hard as concrete.
