I found 1 vendor selling a black 1/8” 23t cog and a couple selling 3/32” 22 t cogs, but would prefer the width and color of the latter with the tooth # of the former.

Watcha got?

Trade, cash, charity.

I have 2 17/21 Dingles whose usefulness I am pondering (I have been using 17/19s and have a stash of those) and might consider trading 1 of those for 2 23s or 22s, as above …

Thanks.

I was pondering this today during a very pleasant indeed 20-mile out ’n’ back to the Balloon Park and past it to I-25, and return. Tho’ in a way it would be nice to have a custom derailleur clone of that 1999 Joe Starck fixed gear, at the bottom of my heart I really don’t want another (4th) bike, and likewise, really, I just prefer riding fixed.

I have no plans to ride more than 50 miles and that only with friends; most of my riding will continue to be solitary, pleasant, and short, as today’s 20 miler (all in the 75” gear), but sometimes 30 miles. I do not plan to ride the Sandias; my riding area stops at the foothills just East of the Tramway climb.

With the 52 t ring on the 1999 gofast and a 17/19 DIngle I get 75” and 67”, good for most riding + extended and stiffer headwinds, or extended and shallower inclines; adding a 22 or better, 23 would give me a 58” or better 55” for group rides with friends up to 50 miles.

So, a 4th bike just to make it up a few local steep and longer hills seems overkill.

At any rate, before I buy a custom or even a used Roadeo or Riv Road, I want to try a flipside 22 or 23 t cog.

Yes, I must have spent $1600+ for that NIP 1937 TF hub + proprietary cog assortment + super-complex wheel build, but all in all, I just prefer to screw a 22 or 23 t cog to the other side of the Phil. (I may offer that hub for sale, along with rechromed 1930-something TC and 2 VG AMs.)
