Hi all,
after missing the boat on tall Riv frames more times than I can count (usually lost at the intersection of availablity x funds-ability), I snared a big Homer frame last spring, got it built out by early summer, and just happened to be thinking about it while I peruse th FS parts and whatnot.
Here is a shot on a nice morning in the Great Suisun Marsh. Fairly standard build: Billie Bars, Gravel Kings, Alex 36-spoke rims on a front Shimano hub and rear VO hub (built up by Ben's/Milwaukee),Tektro brakes, Shimano 1x10 Deore drivetrain, Velo Orange single ring cranks, MKS "Pretzel" pedals, giant OG Sackville bag on Nitto rack, Brooks saddle. It's pretty awesome and a great departure from my beastly XXL Surly Ogre.

Looks great!  Any opinions about the VO rear hub?  I plan to put together a new rear wheel for my AHH and there aren't many options for rim brake 135 hubs out there.

I built up a wheelset recently using a riv S!LVER hub in the rear. Definitely noisier than I'm used to w/ Shimano hubs, but nothing too crazy. Would highly recommend.

Sweet Homer! Looks like a fun bike to ride and an awesome place to ride it!

Eric - great looking bike. I'm a sucker for a double top tube.

Kesler & Teague - I've not used the VO hub but agree with Teague that the Silver is good (not loud IMO), white ind MI hubs are my preferred but at a premium price point, Phil Wood is ok, bitex get good reviews at a nice price point but I've never used them. Shimano is also a great choice.

I’m curious to find out what sort of experience (pos or neg) gets Phil Wood hubs an “ok” rating. In my experience with everything from WI to Paul, Campy to King, Phil Wood hubs sit right at the top.
