Silver shifters 2 on Suntour Power thumbshifter mounts

I'm guessing it won't work but....I wonder if anybody here has tried this combination. 

I'm personally not a big fan of the current thumbshifter mounts for 22.2 bars, even the Paul ones. I find them too bulky. The mounts from Suntour (like those of modern ENE wing shifters) are so neat AND it's possible to tape over the mounting clamp giving a much cleaner look, IMO.

Any thoughts?
