I just picked up my frame and fork from Hill Clarke of Airglow Painting this morning. It came out very nicely. Took longer than planned, but he turned out to be a nice guy and a good painter. I was going to stay up all night and put it back together for the club ride tomorrow. (So the folks Anne talked about can ask me how much weight all that paint adds) I think instead I'm going to take more time. Not sure which bar tape to use, color of cable housing etc.  I will take it by the shop at lunch today and get the headset pressed back in. Pictures as soon as I can find a cable to connect my camera to the computer..

Nice to have it back!

I hope you have more success in finding the perfect colored cable housings. When my beautiful frame got back from Rivendell and their painter I wanted to use dark green cabling. Couldn't find any so I tried to "invent" some, experimenting with dyes and paints that "claimed" to work on plastics. Dismal failure so I settled for black. Good luck on your quest....and I'm sure there are lots of us waiting for you to find your USB cable.

Congratulations!  I used Airglow several years ago and was also pleased (and also had to wait longer than anticipated).  The painter's name was different, though so I wonder if it changed hands.  Anyway, if you're not aware, Velo Orange has cables in various colors.  I settled on black for my Bleriot because black seems to disappear more than any other color and I didn't want to call attention to the cables.  Have fun with the build.

Steve:

Thanks for the note on V-O for colored cables. I have some white on the shelf, but they look wrong next to the cream lugs I think.

Your bike was probably painted by Ronny Lindsey. He is the current painter's father-in-law and is not painting these days.

Bruce, Yes, Ronnie painted my bike.  They did a great job on the custom lettering and graphic, and stripes also.  I'm glad to hear that Airglow again has a vote of confidence, in case I totally lose my mind someday and decide to repaint my Bleriot.  Happy New Year and again, have fun with your bike.  I'm sure it will look great and we will want pix, of course.  Steve

Here's the frameset:

or if that link is a problem:

https://picasaweb.google.com/Bruce.Herbitter/RoadStandardRePaint?authuser=0&feat=directlink

And for the gram counters among us, the frame is 1840g and the fork is 750g.

Thanks Rene!  The blue is the original (don't know what RBW called it). The bike was all the same color, but in a nod to RBW's now long practice of painting the head tubes cream, I had the lugs and crown done that way. My son suggested the seat cluster treatment, as opposed to keeping the stays all blue.

Thanks!!  I've started to put it back togther, may have it to ride tomorrow or Monday with some temporary bits until the new stuff gets here. My wife INSISTED that I get a green Brooks to accentuate the green in the decals, in place of the former black saddle. She did not have to tell me twice. Buddy Jeff gave me some Brooks green bar tape a while back and it will be pressed into service.
