It's been exceptionally warm for past couple weeks, and flowers seem to be blooming and falling in great hurry.
Last weekend I went for a ride before cherry blossoms fall.

A 10-minute ride take me to a giant weeping cherry tree:

And riding further to enjoy a couple of cherry trees:

There were also ume trees (a kind of apricot) blooming.
Each ume flower is smaller than cherry. Some people prefer ume to cherries, saying that they're more understated and graceful.

I also enjoyed fukujusou flowers (adonis ramosa), looking like yellow carpet:

Cherry blossoms are already falling now. Yesterday I went for a brief ride, and peach blossoms were blooming just in time so that I could enjoy cherry blossoms, peach blossoms, and pink carpet at the same time:

Peach blossoms are opposite of ume blossoms; they're so much more colorful:

Takaski, how gorgeous. The pink carpet photo is my favorite and a close second is the last photo with the fuchsia and silvery pink blooms. Is this in Japan? I will be sure to show my 16 yr old son - he is in love with Japan and all things Japanese and might break our hearts and move there someday. He is 2 years into learning Japanese and hopes to be fluent by the time he graduates. Anyway, I cannot imagine how lovely this ride must have been. Thanks for sharing these photos!

So beautiful! The images are all spectacular, but that weeping Cherry tree in the first image is incredibly beautiful. Living in the northern US our flowering trees are fairly limited, so I really enjoyed seeing these, especially since it is 30 degrees F this morning here in Wisconsin.

Thank you Leah. Glad to know that you liked the photos.
Yes, I live in Nagano, Japan. It's a mountainous area.
You should tell your son to be careful as to where in Japan he will stay; if he lives in Tokyo, instead of seeing mountains and flowers, he'll see something like this:

Thank you Randy.
I can't imagine how it's like to live in Wisconsin. I assume that climate is very harsh?

Here are couple more pictures of peach blossoms:

How lucky you are, Takashi!  What a beautiful area for riding; thank you for sharing your photos.  I especially liked the path bordered with the trees in bloom.  The pink and magenta are probably even more stunning in person.  Is there a sweet fragrance as well?  (BTW, I love your fenders!  So classy.)

Hi Joyce
I didn't notice fragrance of peach blossoms. I haven't heard other people talk about fragrance of cherry or peach blossoms, so it's not that I'm insensitive to smells, I think.
Ume blossoms (4th image of the original post), I did notice subtle but pleasant fragrance.
Thank you about fenders. I bought them from Woody's Fenders (https://www.woodysfenders.com/default.asp).

Takashi, these images are so gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. It is my dream to one day travel to Japan with my family for hanami.

Beautiful photos once again, Takashi! How fortunate you are to ramble around those beautiful hills on your lovely bicycle. One of these days I'll have to make a trip out your way and pedal those roads. Our blossoms in Yokohama are all but gone with the exception of the yaezakura cherries. Enjoy the Spring!

Thank you all for warm comments!
I really hope that people can travel more easily in the near future, and RivRiders visit this land.

Here are couple more photos from today's brief ride:

The photos started out strong, and are getting better and better with each post.  Wow, thanks for posting!  I'm fortunate to have a lot of cherry and plum blossom trees here, though these peach blossom trees are blowing my mind.

Thank you Jason!
Around here, peach blossoms were already falling by the time I took the last photo. It's raining now, so I think they'll be mostly gone by tomorrow.
Cherry blossoms have not bloomed yet in Canada, I think? Enjoy your cherries on your gorgeous RIv!

I'm enjoying all these photos so much.  I bike for flowers and color and trees and sky and birds and everything.  These are wonderful and thank you for posting.

I'm pretty sure that New Jersey is also a beautiful place!

Here in Vancouver, the early blossoms (Yoshino and probably others) are all long done and the trees are halfway leafed out, but the later-blooming cherry blossoms with deeper pink flowers that also put out a couple leaves per cluster (Kanzan I think) are peaking right now. Here are two photos from my ride to the brewery today, one from this morning's dog walk, and one from yesterday's post office ride.

Jason, those deep pink cherries are so gorgeous! I see some pedestrians in the photos. They must be enjoying, too.
One of your photos show white and pink flowers; are they blooming from the same tree?
Some peach blossom trees have both white and pink flowers on one tree, but I've never heard of cherry trees blooming like that.

On Saturday I rode around higher place, and I enjoyed both cherry and peach blossoms.

No flowers here, but when I see Mt. Ontake, I can't go on without taking a picture:

Lovely, as always. Someone (not me!) should make a calendar or, better, coffee table book of Rivendells in beautiful nature settings around the world. I --seriously -- would buy one of either.

Thank you Bob.
I am dreaming of Riv riders gathering and riding in Japan someday. That should be fun!

Patrick, that's a good idea, though I also am too lazy to do such work!

Recently, I have been very busy and scared to ride my bike because local drivers have been overwhelmingly aggressive. Anyhow, I got out for a short ride earlier. I found some blossoms, took some photos, caught my first Green Sunfish, and felt happy.
